Julie Ansiau
Julie Ansiau is a multi-talented French photographer and embroidery artist. She makes these beautiful colourful felt ‘popquilts’. Each piece is hand sewn, unique and a piece of art. She studied the craft of embroidery at the prestigious parisian school Lesage.
On the other hand, she works as a photographer, not only specialized in kids & interiors (but these are my favourites) here below are a few of her latest works…
1.Images from the latest Oeuf nyc catalogue (I love the stylism too!)
2.Editorial for the always stunning Papier Maché magazine.

craft as art: animal farm
Everybody knows how much we love all things handmade.
Today we came across the story of Nishi Chauhan, as she explains:“It all started with the gradual accumulation of glass bottles in our household. Beer bottles, mason jars, wine bottles, pickles, preserves and sauce bottles, ad nauseum. Soon it became difficult to ignore and the bottles in the growing pile took on a life of their own. Shapes started to emerge- animals, things, people I’d known and possibly even a cloud or two! From such trivialities are ideas born.”
Et voilà!…this is how the entire animal farm was born. Come and meet Peeves the penguin, Porky the pig, Gerry the giraffe, Flo the shark, Humf the hippo and Ellie the elephant!

all things sunny
I love felt and I love these hand sewn artworks on vintage linen by Rachel Castle. They are colorful and have a little pop of energy that makes me smile. In their shop you can find all things for homewear like cushions, bedlinen, garlands and a range for kids also. As they say, the brand has become haven for lovers of all things sunny. XO
